Four Northland business owners are donating their services to benefit clients of Hillcrest Ministries Transitional Housing program throughout March. All of the women actively support a wide range of community services.

Sonrisa Salon and Day Spa, an ec o-friendly salon, is providing free makeovers to improve confidence and self-esteem. Co-owners Karen Kissinger and Katie Paulus recognize the importance of self-confidence and image in successfully navigating today’s challenging job market.

Hillcrest’s mission of helping “homeless families become self-supportive, self-reliant contributors to society” resonates with the mother-daughter team. Kissinger, a leading Wellness Expert and Personal Growth Coach, works with national and international clients seeking to find new focus in their lives through better living practices. "I am looking forward to working with our neighbors at Hillcrest and providing pro bono life coaching and professional makeover services from Sonrisa,” said Kissinger.

Paulus, an attorney with family law experience, says; "I hope our business can help make a positive impact on the clients we will serve from Hillcrest Ministries. I have seen firsthand the struggles that women in transition can face."

Kym Klein, Fashion and Style Informant, is working with Hillcrest clients to develop career-oriented wardrobes from the Hillcrest Thrift Shop, and her own Savvy and Posh boutiques. “I strongly believe in giving back to the community and am excited to partner with Hillcrest. This is my third charitable collaboration with Sonrisa,” she said.

Organize Your Lifestyle owner Vicky Weishar is assisting with personal and family organizational systems.
